RED KITE has been out for several months, making it time to look back at its performance, reception, and development. With strong reviews and a 4.67/5 rating on Itch.io, the game has become ROEGA’s most ambitious and story-driven title to date. This update also looks ahead to further improvements through 2026—and the possibility of a RED KITE sequel.

RED KITE has been out for a few months now, so it is time to take stock.
RED KITE is currently sitting at number 5 on the ROEGA chart. While this ranking falls short of expectations, the reason is simple: RED KITE is excluded from all sales and special promotional events on Itch.io.
Otherwise, however, RED KITE boasts good reviews and solid overall figures; on Itch.io, it holds a rating of 4.67 out of 5 stars.
Personally, as the developer, I am more than satisfied with RED KITE. It is ROEGA’s most ambitious, beautiful, polished, and—above all—story-rich game to date. It is the first title to feature cutscenes and a narrative told directly within the game itself, rather than just through accompanying text. RED KITE isn't a simple arcade "micro-indie"; it is a full-fledged indie action platformer.
So, what comes next? Minor improvements will be made to RED KITE through the end of 2026. Beyond that—depending on how the numbers shape up by the end of the year and whether a community actually forms—I could envision a sequel for RED KITE.
I hope you enjoy playing RED KITE and have fun with it.
