WARDOGS Season 3 lands November 12 with new urban map

BULKHEAD and publisher team17 have announced that Season 3 of WARDOGS, the 100-player tactical first-person shooter (FPS), will launch on November 12th on Steam. The update brings a new urban map, a Limited Mode with gear caps, longer seasons and a large anti-cheat action.

According to a release, Season 3 is aimed at the shared discovery that marked the game's Early Access launch. A season wipe, slower progression closer to Season 1, and a move to three-month seasons sit alongside the new map. BULKHEAD also said it has banned 185,000 accounts after reviewing 187 million hours of play.

WARDOGS splits 100 players across three teams that fight over a control zone. Early Access means the game is still being built, with player feedback shaping what comes next. Season 2 added weather, tanks and faction incentives in mid-October; Season 3 shifts the fight into close-quarters city streets.

Urban map and Limited Mode

The new map is an urban battlefield built for tight fights, the release says. The whole community learns it together after the wipe. BULKHEAD wants the longer season and slower climb to restore a sense of achievement that Season 2's faster pace cut short.

Limited Mode is a separate playlist with caps on weapons, ammunition, armour and vehicles. Planned limits include FMJ-only ammo, a Tier 2 armour cap and fewer attack vehicles; the final restricted list is still being set. Cash and XP earned there carry into the default mode, and the other way around.

Seasons will now run about three months. That gives players more time before each wipe and gives the studio more room to prep the next drop, according to the release.

Anti-cheat and the road to 1.0

“Season 3 is about giving players a new battlefield to learn together and a progression journey worth spending time on,” said Joe Brammer, CEO of BULKHEAD. “Longer seasons give everyone more room to reach their own goals, and give us the time to properly develop what comes next. We're also taking major action against cheating. Protecting the people who play WARDOGS fairly is essential to everything we're building.”

BULKHEAD said machine learning on 187 million hours of gameplay let it bring anti-cheat work forward from plans for next year. The studio has nearly four million unique players since launch. It has also banned exploiters, real-money traders and gold-farming networks, and revoked some server-hosting rights. A player trust score is planned for 2027.

Season 3 is part of the path to WARDOGS 1.0. Larger metagame changes, including a new progression system, are lined up for 2027, with full Season 3 patch notes due before launch. The season goes live on November 12th on Steam.

BULKHEAD is a Derby, UK studio founded in 2015. Earlier titles include The Turing Test and Battalion 1944. A consortium of SMG, everplay and Hiro Capital recently acquired the studio from Tencent. team17, founded in 1990 and part of everplay Group plc, publishes WARDOGS; more is at team17.com.
